3 Easy Ways to Get More Enquiries (Without Posting More!)

Most photographers already feel stretched between shooting, editing, client comms, family life, and even just semi regular slightly lazy (no judgement!) posting on Insta.
Who has time to add more content to the pile?
But here's the thing (and you're gonna love this)... you don’t need to become a full time social media content creator to get more enquiries. It's just a little tweaking.
Here are three easy things you can do that will make it easier to get bookings without adding heaps more to your to-do list.
1. Fix your “link in bio” (it’s probably underperforming)
Your link in bio should do one job: Turn a lurker into an enquiry.
Does your bio link send people to your home page? It probably feels like a good clean generalised place for them to land. But it just makes them wander everywhere except the contact page.
Instead, use a link that leads directly to a more useful page, for example:
A “Work With Me” page: What you shoot, where you’re based, starting prices. Keep it simple, don't overwhelm them with all.the.things. But most importantly - a big “Book Now” button that goes to your contact form; or
A “Start Here” page: With a small handful of hero images from across all the genres you shoot, FAQs, and a “Book Now” button (again, that goes to your contact form).
Because people are already clicking, you’re just guiding them better. It’s a small change → big results (and you only need to do it once).

2. Make your captions do more heavy lifting
You don’t need more posts, you need posts that work harder.
Instead of: “Loved this session!”
Try something like: “This family wanted relaxed, natural photos where the kids could play and be themselves, and here’s how we made that happen.”
Why this works better:
It speaks directly to your ideal client.
It tells people why they should book you.
It gives a little insight into your sessions.

3. Send an email to your past clients
Socials are great for building awareness and community, but email is still queen for guiding them to take action.
Photographers forget this one all the time… your past clients already know you, like you, and trust you.
A simple email can turn a quiet month into enquiries overnight.
Something like:
“Hey Jane! I’ve opened up a few session spots for the next month - thought I’d offer them to past clients first. If you’d love updated family photos, hit reply and I’ll send you the details.”
Nothing fancy, no in depth sales pitch, just a warm, genuine message (and super quick). Most photographers never do this, and it’s one of the easiest wins.
The secret isn’t more content, it’s smarter content
You don’t need to hustle harder or become a full-time content creator. You just need a few small shifts to make it easier for the people who already love your work to take the next step.
And if writing captions, emails, or website pages makes you want to hide under a blanket… that’s literally what I do (the writing bit, not the hiding bit).
I write the words so you can focus on doing what you love (shoot!).
